Hi,

my favorite diff lube seems to be 2 quarts of Valvoline durablend 80W-90 mixed with one quart of 75W-90 Mobil 1.

Is there any downside to mixing? Am I just negating the synthetic properies of the M1 by mixing it? Or am I increasing the non-synthetic properties of the Valvoline?

My Tacoma seems to like this mix and it's cheap enough that I can change it every year 20k miles.

Hmmm, you and your car on speaking terms now?

Yes you are negating some of the advantages and properties of the M1 diffy lube, but the Blend should be OK for your change interval which is good.

I generally don't like to blend lubes. I always wonder- Am I improving the poorer lube or bringing the better lube down so I get the WORST characteristics of each... hmmmmm
