bleeding air grom grease gun

I cannot get the bleed screw to loosen on my main grease gun after I changed the cartridge. Its been awhile since I change the grease cartridge.

Its a normal slotted screw and will not loosen even with a wrench on the shaft. I see other grease guns have a normal hex bolt. Other ways to bleed the air?

Its a normal full size lever operated grease gun.

Most guns have a push button bleed.

I assume my gun is 25-35 years old. Only a bleed screw.

Make sure that the rod in the bottom is pushed all the way in. Loosen the top a few turns and come back to it tomorrow. Screw the top back on and see if it works. Thats how I do mine.
