So I picked one of these up the other week with a 20% coupon. Looks ok. Not significantly different than the older CE from what I can see. I did clean and repack the gear box with better quality grease.

I don't remember if I function tested it before but now it only applies power to eccentric rotation. The axial rotation seems to be powered passively. Is that correct?? It seems to work very well though. In fact this the first time I used a DA to apply Meguiar ultimate liquid- which never worked well by hand as it was always way too streaky and hard to remove. Super easy by DA though (must be easier to spread thin).

This morning I did a wash followed by megs ULW. Last wax was a proper clay and griots one step in the spring. With maybe 3 hand washes since then as I never have time any more... sorry for the overcast but I can't control the weather! BTW this truck has 110k and lives outside 24/7!

The truck looks Maaaavelous!

The new Bauer buffer has the same functionality as the old one. Rotation of the pad is passively driven by a spinning platter that has an offset counter weight.
According to this fellow in the video (who is a full-time pro detailer) the new one is basically identical to the old one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-mHKBj31Ig
