Big changes at the local franchise a couple weeks back.

1st, flat screen tvs replaced the static menu board.
2nd, the value menu got replaced with some arbitrary promotional picture.

Now I can't get my $1 chicken sandwich, or anything else, except four nuggets or a skinny burger.

Is this country wide or is my franchisee sticking it to me?

I went to a Burger King a couple of weeks ago and bought something, I think a value meal and the price was about .70 more and I asked him why it was more than the posted price and he said the meal prices sometime change when he punches it in the register and they dont always reflect on the board until its changed. Now I had a extra .70 but there are days when I have enough cash to get something and pick it off the board and would be bummed out to not have enough cash in my pocket when I go to pay. I dont like that practice and havent been back. that is shady and I dont like that, too mant other fast food establishments that dont play that game or need to.

BK is trying to go higher end to make money. They are actually going to have meals surpass the 9 dollar mark by the end of the summer. We already have a few at 8 bucks already.

They blame gas and food costs. As of sept, no value menu either...

Man has a good point..

Bring your own lunch?

I did it for years when I still had to work outside of my own home, Amazing what you can stuff in a little cooler.

So far I haven't seen the same at McD's.

Wendy's effectively raised the price a while back by halving the size of their dollar burgers.

This can be worse.

For instance, your local BK franchise might decide to put up HDTVs in the lobby and continuously play a ~30 minute "ProActive" infomercial. Trust me, it really stimulates the appetite...hearing Justin Bieber and others drone on about their zits. Alas, a revenue stream is a revenue stream and it makes sense up to the point where you're generating more money from that than you are losing from grossed out patrons.

BTW, it goes w/out saying that I don't eat BK anymore.

All the Burger King franchises near my area (3 of them) closed during the past couple of years. I haven't been in one for maybe 5-6 years so I'm not even sure what their menu looks like nowadays.

You mean you actually put that garbage into your mouth? Did you lose a bet with someone? Perhaps take a dare while intoxicated?

Maybe this will be a reason to eat something that more closely resembles real food.

Bah, a Whopper atleast isn't that bad, and I don't even really see the difference between it and a $12 burger meal from "real" restaurant. All the ingredients are the same... BK fries aren't great so I don't order any.
The chemically reconstituted chicken processing by-product burgers probaby aren't that great for you, I agree.

I've noticed that with a lot of fast food - even the full sized/regular priced burgers are starting to resemble sliders at some places.

The tomatoes, lettuce, onions and pickles on a whopper aren't real food?

The beef is 100% cow.

Maybe the bun isn't real. It's a hologram hiding cyanide pills.

I assure you the food is as cheap as ever, or even cheaper, at a higher profit margin.
