We are now 19,000-plus strong in the BITOG family- that's a LOT of people! It got me to thinking... I wonder if it would be possible to have a BITOG convention?

I'm still trying to think of a purpose for one but it seems that when an organization, etc. has this many members some form of get-together is held...

Thoughts? Just curious...

A guy I work with mentioned this; Since he is married I suggested how this would be received by his wife. Since he barely is allowed to stock pile oil without scrutiny, he agreed any chances of his attending a get together is about as likely as a 35K TSO run.....8)

I'd commute for a BITOG convention, it would give me a great opportunity to put some miles on my car for my 2nd ARX run

Who would be the band we'd hire for night time entertainment?

Who would give the keynote address?

Who would sponsor the event?

Would obbop be there?

Hmmm... what about Bob?

And, yes, there's the entertainment factor that has to be considered. I'll leave that decision up to others!

I vote we let Mori do the cooking.

And Pablo's right, we need some females to show up. Maybe we can combine with a CITAIG convention. (Candi is the Aerobics Instructor Gal)

Australia would be fantastic- our family was going to move there back in 1968 or so, we even had our passports. My dad got cold feet so it never happened.

There's still the issue of female entertainment as mentioned in another post- hmmm... women and oil... [SLAP] Oh, I mean ENGINE oil! [/SLAP]

Big mistake that. Lately every time I get work done at home, go to a restaurant or this week start at a new job the person is an 'ex American'. New serviced office manager we just moved into is from Menlo Park California and quite a stunner (tall too). She has been here in Canberra 10 mths (2 1/2 years in Oz) and loves it. Did a degree or something at the Gold Coast Qld. The five major shootings in the last two weeks reinforce her decision even more never to return, she told me yesterday. My thoughts exactly
