Birds are ruining my paint!

eShine is great, I got all my buffer pads from them! (and the buffer too!)

Well, Patman, I gave it a try the other night, on the hood. I was far too gentle, and didn't accomplish much. I did some reading on the Meguiar's forums. It turns out I had the speed a couple settings too low and didn't spend nearly enough time on each spot. I guess I was overly paranoid. I suppose that's better than getting a rotary, cranking it full blast, and leaning into it for five minutes.

Definitely! You are doing it the right way, easing into it slowly and then you know you won't damage the paint.

Different manufacturers have different levels of softness to their paint, so that's why it's always good to use the softer pads and less aggressive compounds at first until you find the right combo for removing imperfections in your particular paint.

I always err on the side of caution with respect to paint. I expected the swirl marks to be easier to remove, given that I was able to handle the splat on the hood by hand, albeit a fair bit of work. I'll give it another go.

I think a lady owned the G before I did. When one renews one's driver's licence each year, the licencing authority should check that the driver's nails are clipped. This lady must have had some real talons, judging by the marks near the driver's door handle.

Don't know about removing the etching, but have had a truck withstand a summer of parking under a mulberry tree with two coats of Liquid Wax and no harm done.

I don't think it really etches the paint, but does kind of get ingrained in there. I too used to have problems with it. I used to get rid of it with some elbow grease.

First:

1-Get a soaking wet paper towel, let it sit on the spot for a bit(few minutes), then gently wipe away with a microfiber cloth. If there are clumps, let soak longer and breakdown for a clean wipe.

2-Meguiars 3 step wax system. You only need the 1st step(Paint Cleaner/Cleaner formula.

3- Apply the step 1, let dry, remove, reapply as needed it should lift it right out. I used to have leaf stains that washing and cleaning wouldn't take out and this product got rid of them ALL first try. I always, always use Microfiber towels for the most benefit(less harm).

If you want you can do the whole car with the product, get a nice polish then a wax to seal the deal. The 3 step is like 5-8 dollars per step, so at most a $25 deal, but you can use anything you want, ideally just keep the Paint Cleaner around.


Always worked wonders for me.
