Bigger Filter for aa3614

The AA3600 should be the longer version of the 3614. Depending on room, there's plenty of options for larger diameter filters. Loads of them. With the 7317 I believe that you need to go larger in diameter and a slightly different gasket size, iirc.

The AA3593a should be a larger diameter filter that will work in place of the AA7317, if that helps. I have used them interchangeably on Hondas, Acuras, Nissans, and others.

Hmm. I wa slooking for a slightly bigger one for a 05 camry. I think AA3600 would be to long and woulnt clear. Anything in between? Also, anything with a bigger diameter but not shorter that might work in place of AA7317? Thanx

Actually, the AA3600 does fit on the camry. sweet. I usually do 5,000 miles chang intervals but I dont wnat to be as wasteful. since the filter cost the same price, I figured I might as well double the filter size. Would 2.5 quarts of supertech 5w30 and 2.5 qts of mobil 1 be sufficient for a 10,000 mile change? I was gonna try 5 of just regula castrol but i don't think it will last.

Assuming the AA7317 is a clone of the PH7317, it should be ~3.5" long x 2.7" diam.
A WIX 51344/NAPA 1344 is 4" long x 3.25" diam.

Or, a 51334/1334 is 3.2" long x 3.25" diam. Nice to have options.

BTW - I'm assuming these are different applications - the 3600/3614 being 3/4"-16 thread, and the 7317/3593, 20x1.5mm. Probably being redundant here, but I have been under a vehicle a time or two trying to figure out why a filter wouldn't go on, then discover it was the wrong thread. (

Rangerfan24,

I don't think I would extend my oil change out that far on the Camry unless you are really doing mostly longer trips with full engine warm-ups. I have seen some deals in the past at Advance Auto and AutoZone for 5 qts Mobil 1 EP and a Mobil 1 M1-209 oil filter for about $30 or $35. This oil is rated for 15k miles and could probably go at least your proposed 10k miles safely. I surely would not mix SuperTech and Mobil 1 period, or try to go 10k miles on that mix.
With longer trips-type driving, you could possibly go 10k miles safely on Pennzoil Platinum and say a PL20195 oil filter. Same possibly with the new Valvoline Synpower and a Wix 51516 oil filter. In addition to the mileage, limit yourself to 6 months or 12 months max on synthetic oil and filter.

Keep in mind, Toyota generally recommends 6 months or 5000 mile oil changes for their cars.

Im in the northeast so I have a feleing our supertech is drive clean. Its def. mobil of some sort though. So i was thinking 2-3 quarts of M1EP and two supertech(driveclean). Is there really a worthy difference between AATG and regular purolator. People say AATG are low end. I cut open one a while back. Looked the same as a regular purolator, maybe with a few less pleats. The puroene has better media, but the whole ptfe gasket thing is unnecessary at least for our cars. The OEM filter that came on the car was a toyota purolator with a [censored] o ring thing.Thanx for all the advice. =)

W71915 = Wix 51088 It's got a high bypass valve setting. Lots of other 3/4-16 thread filters from MANN ..most with the characteristic 30+ bypass valve rating of many German engines.

Here's what it looks like in a WIX.

RWEST I couldn't get the xref to work for me.

Gary, thanks thats a wealth of info.
Actually I'm interested in the standard short filter. The Wix # 51348 is applicable. Have been using the Quaker State #3614.
Do you know a Mann part # that would be suitable?

Did the 3600 filter when I had my Saturn. Perfect replacement, holds about 1/2 qt more oil, too.

The MANN W71220 should work in place of a Ph3614 in an engine that requires a higher bypass valve setting.

Thanks Gary.

Not quite sure I fully understand the By-Pass Valve Setting spec'.
Am I correct in assuming this is the minimum default pressure should the filter start to clog? I presume it has nothing to do with the maximum allowable pressure (nominally 90 psi) when it goes into by-pass?

The MANN Nominal Micron Rating of 10 is impressive. Does this spec' apply to all MANN filters?
