Does Wix make two different quality filters?

Rockauto has the 51396 for $4.77 and Parts America's site has it at $8.59.
Big price difference so I'm wondering if it's the same filter.
Anyone know before I order?

Wix only makes one 51396 filter. I would order from Rockauto.com and compare it to the picture on the Wix filter website when it comes in. I would imagine it will match.

I placed the order...we'll see.

Same filter. Partsamerica prices are just generally high in my experience. They seem to sell most parts at "list price" while rockauto.com, discountautoparts.com and others sell at discounts which get the individual buyer into the price range a commercial trade account would expect.

Just yesterday I received a big order of wix filters from rockauto. I also used the 5% off coupon.

They are the same as you buy from your local parts store, only much cheaper. Mine also still had the orange adv. They were painted black, and had the nascar thing on the side.

Got mine also from Rockauto.
Mine are painted white with the Nascar logo.
Seem to have some weight to them compared to a Fram.

Just new packaging - the filter itself is the same. I guess I was trying to say we don't make a premium and second line of this particular filter.

Partsamerica lists the Pure One at $12.99.

How do these Wix filters compare to my usual Motorcraft or AC Delco's? Are they with silicon anti-drain valves? I'm not big into restrictive flow. So as an example, I'm more apt to buy a Purolator Premium Plus than a Pure One.

I see RockAuto.com has my 2004 3.5 Colorado oil filter for $5.... might be interested in these.

I have the coupon code at home. I think it expires in April or May. Will check it out when I get home from work.

Ya, I get paid to surf!!

You give this discount code: 214055202306 to friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks.
- When someone (including yourself) places an order at www.rockauto.com and enters your discount code in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart, he or she will receive an immediate 5% discount on that order.
- The discount code expires on June 21, 2005; so don't wait!
