whats in bg moa ( motor oil additive) is there a voa on this product? and how is this compared to schaeffers #132?

A long time ago I tried BG MOA. It is supposed to reduce the oxidation of oil and make oil last longer, and also help to keep an engine clean. I tried it maybe one or two times. Maybe a some amount added to known sludge monster engines would help.

I tried it in a car that I was using Mobil 1 oil in. Maybe I put too much in because it seemed to reduce the performance. If you use it, use only a small amount, especially in a small car engine.

BG products are very highly regarded by some people. The BG44K fuel system cleaner is extremely highly regarded-I have heard a lot of people talk about it. In fact, when I went to the new Saturn dealership in Pueblo, I saw BG products on the shelf, including some I had not heard of before. There was one called something like BG 'Quick Clean.' I don't know if that is an engine flush or some sort of oil additive.

I have also noticed BG44K at Honda and Toyota dealerships, and I know the local GM dealership has it. It has been my experience that you don't find stuff at new car dealerships unless there is a high probability that it works. You don't find buck and a quarter fuel injector cleaner at a good dealership.

I have tried BG44K fuel system cleaner and it is powerful stuff. The injectors are likely going to be clean for at least a while! It is also expensive. It might be a good idea to use it only once or twice a year and a few hundred miles before an oil change.

I believe the BG MOA is a zinc or ZDDP additive. If using Amsoil or Mobil 1, it is not necessary. If using a conventional oil, it probaly helps it last longer and provides the greatest benefit.

My highly reputable Nissan dealer uses BG products. Since they use Valvoline oil, the BG MOA is probaly a good thing to use.

i just talked to bg and the moa is heavily fortified with zinc1600ppm, phosphorus 1500, mag, cal.moly 300 ppm as a by product...they said they don't take short cuts or use the best bids for the cheapest....they use the very very best thats why it is a pricy product..if you can't afford it, well....

BG products are kind of hard to find. You are not likely going to find them just walking into an auto parts store-you have to find a distributor.

The BG44K fuel system cleaner seems to be everywhere. I have seen it at several new car dealerships. I think it is highly probable that it works. But it is EXPENSIVE and POWERFUL. Bring more than pocket change. You are looking at about $20.00.

It seems like it is harder to find other BG products, at least where I live. I have seen BG MOA in only a few places. BG MOA might be a good idea (if it works) for people with sludge monster cars, vans, trucks and SUVs. And people who try to stretch oil changes with conventional motor oil might want to try it. Motor oil with BG MOA in it might be harder for a sludge monster engine to break down.

BG actually has several products. I guess they seel their products kind of like Amsoil-you need to find a distributor.

on the contrary bg products are all over the place all the parts stores car quest stores,advanced auto parts, napa stores...

the distributer here in colo. is kenz and leslie here in denver they have trucks that deliver all their products to all the parts stores etc.

they are sold on a route by salesmen on Commission. They Carry the stuff on their trucks and what they don't have on it they deliver ASAP to the location. Better chances may be to find a small local Shop that uses it or maybe offer the shop a 20.00 spot if they get a case and pre-pay perhaps if they won't go for it (just a suggestion)

Maybe it is just my area but I have not seen BG products often in parts stores. But I have seen a lot of BG44K. You can find it in a lot of new car dealerships. Typical price for a can seems to be about $20.00. I have seen BG MOA in a few places-this one garage that was being run by a former airline mechanic used Pennzoil oil (as the preferred oil) and also had cans of BG MOA.

At my car dealership, they have a lot of BG products. I saw some on the shelf in the parts area. I saw BG MOA and some BG product called 'Quick Clean,' that I had never heard of before. I didn't see BG44K, but it was probably there someplace.

I asked a while ago at the dealer about MOA. Was told I didn't need it since I changed my oil on a regular basis. They put it in the cars that don't see recommended mileage oil changes. Manufacture says change every 7500 miles and they see the car for a oil change every 10,000 miles. They told me it is a oil extender or enhancer.
