Mike, Spiritusantu = "Holy Spirit" ? I can relate to that handle .
Point taken about statistical significance and the issue I asked about.
Dyson Analysis sees a large cross section of data and many combinations of automotive fuel/oil/engines and understand exactly what you are saying. My data is also proprietary. I do share as much as I can afford though when able.
Your point that "periodic" use of BG44K is the key and the real issue here is that the spikes we saw may be related to excessive use and/or not being used as directed. One thing I cannot conclude accurately is exactly how much was used. I must rely on the customers input for that with a typical $35 Spectro.
Agreed that BITOG database is not broadbased enough to establish a compelling argument one way or the other.
However if you are a individual oil analysis customer that sees a unexplained rise in certain soft metals using the product, then sees the elevations drop ( whether wear or chemical reaction) after use is ceased and oil changed it is unsettling.
The fact that you are addressing the issue publicly is appreciated and welcome. Please become a BITOG supporter and post more of what you can!
