My mother passed away recently and i intend to take her car as my daily driver. i have a 2020 civic also with 50k and being a bitog person, its in overall great condition .

I will need to sell it as i don't need 2 cars . what are good options to get rid of it other than dealer or private party .

thanks

I'm sorry for your loss.

Regarding the car, perhaps try Carmax? It's super easy and when I sold my Chevy Bolt to them I felt the offer was very fair. My ex also sold his Nissan Kicks to them and they also gave a fair amount compared to what a few other dealers offered. Of course private party can get you a little more money, but it's a big hassle.

Look up the value online. See what the Honda dealer, where you have it serviced, will give you. Go from there

So sorry for your loss.

My experience has been private sale can yield best results, but Carmax is quick and clean. I was offered between reasonable trade and private sale prices at Carmax. If I were you I'd at least get an offer from them and Carvana. I shouldn't have sold mine at all, but I sold privately through Hagarty and got a very fair price.

A low mileage late model car may be a bit too much to try and sell on marketplace or Craigslist.

The car, being (I presume) one-owner, and maintained to BITOG standards, should sell for more than average.

I hope it goes well for you, regardless of which route you go.

Edit: Sorry for the loss of your mother!

sorry for your loss.
carmax is generally the quickest and fastest. Online estimate, drop car off at their location, leave with a bank note and straight to my bank for deposit. When i sold my last car to carmax, the "inspection" was a just quick walk around on the parking lot. Their inspector didn't even pop the hood or put the car on a lift.

Carvana will generally offer more $, but I have heard stories of delayed payment.

The Kbb.com instant cash offer is quick and easy. I would do Kbb, Carmex, carvana and just pick highest/most convenient.

Sorry for your loss.

I helped my elderly father-in-law sell his truck to Carvana in Florida and I'm in Arizona. It went well even with some old guy induced glitches. Their offer was $7k higher than his trusted sales guy at the Chevy garage offered. Someone from Carvana came, looked it over, handed him a check and took the keys and a couple of days later came and picked it up. This was just over a year ago.

I've found that the higher the value of the car the harder it is to sell private party unless the price is a deal so the Carvana option makes sense and eliminates dealing with people.

If you're willing to deal with the hassle, private will yield the higher resale value. Otherwise KBB can give you a cash offer and a local dealer can buy it.

CarMax or Carvana.

Very easy and get your check within 45 minutes.

Be very careful of scammers trying to sell it privately and tire kickers with lowball offers.

so i did the carvana and it was $19500 for my car i may go with unless i can find on better . i bought it during the C for $22500 so losing $3k for 5 years of driving is pretty good

Wow that's a great offer!

It's hard for regular people to come up with 20 grand in cash for a person-to-person sale, so newer cars pretty much need a dealer just for the financing aspect.

You could put your car on Facebook marketplace for $20,500 and just state that the price is the price, and you'll hold it until (48 hours from now.)

But I'd take that Carvana offer and run!
