Change your rear end out. Is it a 6 speed? If so: 4.10's. No doubt about it. They'll make your neck snap back on launches and the 1-2 shift like you won't believe. It's actually easier to launch with them too because you can do it at a lower RPM. They run at such low revs on the highway that gas mileage won't be affected much.

Join several F body lists for the 96 and research their archives. Then ask the same $1000 question there and see what answers you get. I would listen to the 'routine maintenance' advice and do that while you are studying.

The obvious answer anyone on this site should be giving is to spend it on your cars oils and fluids.

Then, save whats left over for future oil and fluid purchases!
