I want to d/l an apk file but am not 101% sure about it. Is there an app that'll scan it automatically as I d/l it? I have AVG . This is to be d/l'ed on my Android phone. Thanks.

If you are downloading it thru Google Play you should be ok.
Im looking for a scanner. Common sense wont ascertain if a file is in fact, good or bad.
It's not from Google Play.
Maybe because Play Store is Google and Google is a trash company.
OP can use something like the virustotal site to check APKs.
And for those who don't know, you can get most APKs on the Play Store from a few trustworthy sites such as APKmirror. And then you don't need to have a google account on your phone. Though you could just make a fake account too.

I was searching for the casino app for hollywood casino.
they were offering 50$ to install it(on a poster at the casino)
I got a site that looked legit had the right website address.
I didnt download it as I was suspicious.. but the website looked REALLLY legit..
even said its not on google play yet as they dont allow gambling apps...
I went back and looked at the poster and installed the correct app and got my 50$
I checked it later from home computer and the google search result was a credential stealing trojan.
