I've got some surface rust on the door hinges, sliders, and hinges on my 2011 Jeep Liberty so I figure it's time to grease the surfaces...what's best to use for penetration, moisture displacement, and longevity? thanks

I use Sylglide. Treat rubber door seals and hinges at the same time. If it can handle brakes, it can handle door hinges.

The problem with grease on door hinges is getting it into the bushings and not just staying on top.
White spray grease is okay but doesn't hold up very well long term.

I use S100 teflon white motorcycle chain lube but its difficult to get in the US. Einszett has one that is almost as good.
It sprays on really thin and penetrates into everything then firms up to a grease that can take the pressures of a high speed/load chain.
It will last a long time in the hinge.

Edit: Added link.

I sometimes see S100 chain lube in bicycle stores, is it the same as the S100 for motorcycles? I live in the USA, but in many stores that only sell bicycles, you can get S100 chain lube.

Sounds a bit like AMSOIL's HD Metal Protectant. It comes out very thin, and then firms up. It is also recommended as a motorcycle chain lube

Grease is lousy for car door hinges.
It sits on the outside, collects dirt, and does nothing to lubricate.
[but you feel that you did something]
You need to get inside.
Anybody's oil is better. Or, a chain lube that goes on thin, penetrates, then sets up thick.

I like Wurth HHS-K it comes out like WD-40 or something to get down in places like door hinges and turns into a grease it doesnt just run off like the rest to me it is the best.I know a lot of places use white lithium grease on the hinges underhood and door hinges and it looks like pure [censored]...
