Best Tire Dressing?

I am having a major problem w/ tire shine - I like shiny tires but I am tired of the stuff slinging all over my rear bumper and rocker panels, on a black car it doesnt look very nice - any suggestions on something that wont sling?

I use Meguiar's Endurance...it's the purple stuff that smells like grape. It works well with a light coating and I don't get any sling.

Stoners More shine less time or Eagle One with the sponge on top. Both work awesome.

I let it sit on the tires for a minute then wipe off... otherwise a litte too shiny for my liking.

Any oily tire dressing is going to sling off unless the tire is wiped after application. Try a water based dressing instead. They will dry a few minutes after application and won't sling. Look for dressings that are watery in viscosity and milky white in color. If the dressing is clear or some strange color, its oil based and will prolly sling.

Best dressing I've ever used is Zaino Z16. Great shine, dries to the touch, never slings, good durability for a water based dressing.

I actually had paint damage on a new car because of the throw off of some cheap tire dressing that the dealer used.
The best stuff I have ever used is distributed by Firestone, and it's not for retail sale. I got from a friend that manages a tire shop. It's in an aerasol can and does that stuff work! Long lasting and no sling off. Easy to apply.

I've never liked a dressing that leaves my tires really shiny. Take a look at brand new tires - deep black, but not shiny. I use original ArmorAll diluted 50/50 with water on my tires and interior vinyl. Wipe it on, let it sit a few minutes, then wipe off.

There is a tire care package sold at Costco with wheel cleaner and tire dressing, and it really works, can't remember the name, though.

I think you would really like 303 aerospace protectant. It gives my tires a deep black look that isn't very glossy, it also protects the tires very well.

I've found the Michelin tire protectant to work well, gives the tires a "natural" shine instead of a glossy, wet-look shine.

On the Stoners I wait over night before driving. I normally wash cars late evenings. I also wipe off the tires after spraying too....

For those of you that are having trouble finding a product that won't sling at all, try DuPont's Tire Shine.

It's a thin, "bluish" liquid when you apply it, but after 10-15 minutes, it completely dries to the touch, with no greasy feel and it leaves a low/medium gloss shine behind that really lasts. I have tried all of the product listed above, and they all sling to some degree on all three of my white vehicles.

I can't stand any other of DuPont's products (including Jeff Gordon)but this stuff is awesome.

I use this myself, don't put it on to thick. Looks great but its not real shiney.

Eagle One Concours Tire Dressing, later called Satin Finish Tire Shine, was my favorite tire dressing for over 10 years. I loved that stuff. I still have a few bottles. One of many terrific products from the old Eagle One, prior to the Ashland buyout.

Zaino Z16 has a polymer and is water based, my personal favorite. When I'm feeling lazy lookwetnomess is a great spray dressing with NO SLING but twice as much as stoners.

My choice also. Good stuff.

I use Stoners tire shine, one coat per tire and you get a nice satin finish with very little sling.

I've been using Meguiar's "clean, Shine & Protect," or whatever it's called now. It comes in a red bottle with a black spray top, it's milky white and watery. I put it on with a damp sponge, and if I don't drive through rain, it'll last a good week or more.

The stuff is also good for interior vinyl, so I get 2 applications for the price of 1.

I also like Megs Hot Shine.

The next thing I try will be the Armor All gel or Zaino Z16

Mothers F/X is great also.
