I just installed it on 2 computers and am just starting to learn it. What have other users out there found that they like about it?

Disable every possible element of windows you don't absolutely need(uncheck all the check boxes possible in control panel->programs->turn windows features on or off), disable all unneeded startup items and services via msconfig.(start->msconfig), keep files off the desktop (shortcuts are o.k.) and windows 7 absolutely flies!!! Also set appearances for "Best performance" and use windows classic theme. Of course using decrapifier and deleting bloatware helps too. Those all speed things up. Try passmark software (free) to test your computer's speed relative to other computers.

I'm very, very happy with window 7. But then I am coming from vista...

I really like the design of the taskbar, and the OS as a whole. To me, most everything with W7 just "feels" right.

It just seems like a better built OS to me

It's faster, its just as stable as XP, and its polished nicely.

Also everything works for me so far..

I like it!

What are the minimum specs for Win7? Can it run on a computer that did not qualify for Vista (i.e. the graphic car)? I haven't been interested in Win7 but keep hearing how great it is so I might give it a shot if no new hardware is required.

I like the built-in Windows Media Center feature. I previously had Windows XP Media Center Edition, but Media Center only marginally worked and didn't like my TV tuner card(s). Windows 7 worked out-of-the-box without any hassles. I now use my Windows 7 box as my DVR and stream everything through my Xbox 360 which is hooked up to my 46" LCD and acts as an extender. It's a great setup.

Thats my next project, is a W7 MPC.
I have another machine with a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 HT.
I need to get a video card with HDMI out and a TV Tuner.
Might get a new hard drive as well, maybe a 500 or 750.

You shouldn't have to cripple the interface for it to run properly. If somebody has to resort to these measures to get the OS performance to a respectable level, they need to upgrade their hardware.

I find myself using the drag the window to the top of the screen to maximize it feature in W7. Then when I'm on an XP machine, I want to do the same thing (but of course can't).

W7 handles the whole administrative rights issue much better.

Yep! The days of making a "lite" version of Windows are over. With Vista, you had to still play with the services to keep things like Windows Search from making minced meat of your hard disk... no longer in Win7. Set it and forget it.

Enjoy a good OS from Microsoft, first time since late '99/early 2000.

Only real annoyance is the one I posted about recently -- the inability to use some perfectly good, older hardware, like my vintage 2002 HP deskjet printer. HP has no drivers, and neither does Win-7. I've tried many tricks, but to no avail.

Other than that, as far as Windows is concerned, it's pretty darned flawless, fast, and doesn't crash at the slightest provocation.
