Best Semi-Metallic Pads for Stopping Power?

2021 GMC Canyon. OE brakes lasted to about 60k miles. I'd say "good" performance overall. Good initial bite, good pedal feel. I switched to Raybestos Quiet Something and after 25k I'm done with them. They are quiet and don't make much dust but the initial bite is very soft. I feel like I have to push hard on the brakes to make them do their job.

Looking towards some semi-metallics. I don't care if they are a little noisy or dusty...I want a great initial bite and good stopping power. Similar to OE but better.

Anyone have experience with Bendix Fleet Metlok or Mevotech's Terrain Tough TTX pads? Thanks!

Anything ebc if you're ok with dust. I went with Advics on an SUV and the EBC were light years better. Just dusty.

EBC? They have oem, green, and extra duty plus The rest are more performance vehicle oriented

You may want to try Brembo Low Met. It is hard to say because many friction materials get customized for the application. If you had a BMW, for example, I can tell you that Textar semi met will have crazy bite, but I'm pretty sure they are application specific. In that regard a true "aftermarket" material may be the best choice. EBC Yellow seem to be considered bitey. Something dusty is likely going to be the answer.

Bendix Fleet MetLock were once a good pad, although its been a few years since Iast used them. Formulations change.

The DFC Ultimate Duty have better performance and feel than standard ceramic-type pads, and they dust like typic Euro pads.

EBC Orange are supposed to be made for good initial bite when trailering with pickups and SUVs. I used Blackstuff for a Blazer but I don't think they make that line anymore.

Bosch Quiet Cast or Centric Posi Quiet Metallic. Centric is tied up in the First Brands mess but are still available on some web sites. I have used both with very good results. Currently have Bosch on my Frontier PU and very happy with them. Above average initial bite on both and surprisingly not as dirty as many others.

I have EBC yellow stuff on my Impreza and they are much better than the OE Subaru pads. I am tempted to try them on my Legacy but my wife also drives the car and I don't want her to give me crap. On the other hand, with the way she drives, she might need them!

I used to run Hawk Super Duty metallics on my trucks. Great bite…but heavy dust, short life, hard on rotors.

I run ceramics now, they’ve really come a long way compared to when they first came out.

We have 60K miles on Bendix Rotors and Fleet Metlok pads on our Ford Expedition. The pads definitely create more dust than OEM, but they also stop better and seem to be lasting longer. By 50K miles the OEM pads were shot.

Dynamic Friction Company Ultimate Duty delivers significantly more bite and a more consistent pedal feel than the factory pads on my Ram 1500.

Bad news -- lots of dust (think 1990 BMW bad) and noise.

Get some Prima (brand) brake pads. They're Bendix pads in a different colored box and they're much cheaper than the Bendix brand.

Rock Auto has the OE pads and rotors for your 2021 Canyon.

Otherwise, just pick something in the brown section labeled Heavy Duty

Sorry the EBC pads aren't available for your car :(

Put Blackstuff pads on the Legacy :)

I've love Wagner Severe duty semi-metallic, Fleet Metloks are very good as well. Another option I used and they were very good front brakes were Napa Severe Duty's semi-metallic. I use Wagner SD the most but I'd say any of these 3 will suit you well.
Just looked at your RA options, i'd go with the Fleet Metlok's

This may not help you now, the Bendix Metlok have excellent stopping power and pedal feel, however they are the dirtiest pad I’ve used. I just removed them from the front of my 15 Silverado 4x4 because I have to clean the wheels all the time. And it’s not just the outer, the inner part of the wheel cakes in good. I’m pretty easy on brakes, so normal use filths the wheels.
