Best penetrating lubricant

I love WD-40. Just bought a fresh two pack from Amazon.

If you have ever removed an adhesive label, and adhesive was left behind...WD-40. I use it to clean off chain lube splatter on my motorcycle and bicycles. On my bikes, after water washing, I hit the various components with WD, to remove moisture and lightly lubricate. I use it on my golf club pull cart, to lube the pivots, and clean grime off the frame tubing. It brightens up dull old paint on things like this also. I handed my kid a can and rag, and he went to town on all the plastic and painted parts of his MT07, and the bike looked like new afterwards.

No fallacy that it's a great lubrication, but it's better than nothing, and has quieted down many things like door hinges, electrical switches, etc. Bash if you want, I like the stuff.

WD40 is great for wiping down tools after I'm done working on a vehicle. I've get to find another use for it where there's not a better product easily found.

Unfortunately, I think basic mineral spirits might even have the advantage over WD40 at the trivial task of tool wipe down oil.
Same here. We somehow got to spraying down our hand tools with WD40 and wiping off with red rags at our shop work tables at the end of jobs before we stored them. I guess since we used them nearly every day, I never found the WD40 to do anything but keep them clean and rust free. I am positive there has to be better stuff out there now a days but that's just what we had at the time.
