What would be the best oil for 3000 mile or 6 month oil changes in 2010 chev tahoe 5.3L and 2009 kia borrego 3.8L engines? The Kia requires 5W-20 or 5w30 weights. the Tahoe requires 5w30 weight.

Any oil you can find on the shelf at Walmart.

Except vegetable oil, canola oil, etc.

I would recommend Pennzoil conventional($12/5 qt jug at WM) but any name brand will be satisfactory.

Those engines are not known to have oil problems and with the change interval not exceeding manufacturer's spec, conventional 5w30 sounds like your best bet here, but if you wish you can certainly go synthetic. Pennzoil, Valvoline, Mobil Clean 5000, etc... all excellent choices for conventional. Platinum, SynPower, M1, all excellent choices for synthetic. Personally, Pennzoil conventional is my first choice for conventional (the price is certainly right!), SynPower my choice for synthetic as it's very good and you can normally get it on rebate and it's cheaper that most others to start with.
