You didn't say if your consuming any more oil on a monthly basis although I'll bet you are.

Maybe you should consider rebuilding the engine???? With that many miles your probably due assuming the body and such is still in fantastic shape.

my engine doesn't use any oil at all, actually.

the same goes in as comes out, and i have never had to top off between oil changes, check it every time i gas up.

truck is in good shape. not perfect, but it's 23 years old.

going to 4.0 swap it eventually, but i wanna keep this engine alive while i can.

really the only problem is the sludge, and i'm not sure i can justify a rebuild based solely on sludge.

What about trying ARX over several 5k OCIs with Rotella T? ARX has been claiming it has been proven to clean sludge ...

I would prefer to pull the engine and do a disassemble & re-assemble if I had that capability. Anything that needs replacing I would do ....if repair costs is > than just buying a rebuild ...maybe just buy rebuild????

IDK ....

I want to also add maybe lookup how to use LC-20 ...I remember reading something about LC-20 & ARX in these forums ...recommending ARX for shorter intervals and LC-20 every 2 to 3 years ...I really haven't looked into LC-20 ...if it could save you the cost of doing a rebuild and delay forking over substantial dough for a rebuild I believe it's worth it.

well, any rebuild is going to end with a stroker 3.5, and i can do that myself, i'd just like to put it off for a while.
