Who makes the best off the shelf car wash liquid available at WM, Target , AA or AZ ? I'm mainly interested in one that nourishes the paint well versus one that just adds cheap wax to the wash liquid ... Thanks in advance !

Take a look at our top picks thread.
Detail & Wax Top Picks

Even though some of what's listed in there can't be gotten at Traget, etc. it's often worth your while to order from Amazon or Autogeek.net when
they have a promo (which happens often). Off the shelf and nourishing the paint well is a tough combo.

So many good products out there. I like washes that have lubricative properties to them so washed off dirt won’t scratch the paint. The two bucket method with grit guards plays a important part as well.

If I had to pick one, it would be Optimum Car Wash. Chemical Guys has some very good washes as well.

Agree.

A couple of the products on that previous post linked list are...well..."very questionable" to even be on any "Top List" in those various categories.

From the looks of the Car Washes listed in both threads guess I'm not sophisticated enough for bitog CW choice. Be that as it may, off the shelf readily available pick, I like Megs Gold Class Shampoo and Conditioner.

Another excellent brand.

Can't go wrong with Gold Class. I have Griot's and I like it almost as much. It smells better.

Meguiar's Ultimate Wash is what I use for a quick wash. Leaves a good shine.

Everybody at the auto parts store I work at swears by Meguiar's Gold Class car wash. I don't use it because I want one that has wax in it too but if I was gonna wax the car separately I'd pick that.

You do realize that "wax" in a wash is a marketing joke right? There is absolutely no way you are getting a true wax out of a $10 bottle of car wash and doing it in one step. The only way to get a real wax shine and protection is to hand wax with a quality Carnuba paste

If you took the time to read about the Top Picks (not "Top List") you'd understand that it's not gofast's top picks, it's not industry top picks, it's BITOG top picks...what a majority or plurality of people who regularly post in *this forum* like. My detail cart doesn't include several items on the list but, either way, anyone who uses anything on that list for the right purpose won't be steered wrong.

I use 3D Wash N Wax with a foam cannon. My backup is Chemical Guys.

Yeah, not really. Wash+Wax products actually work pretty well now, and I wouldn't waste my time with a pure Carnuba Wax unless it was a show car.

Meguiar's Gold Class is available at most of the stores you listed and is a safe choice.

Also, Napa Auto Parts carries Duragloss 901, which many people like as well.

I go all-out and buy the pink stuff from the dollar store.

If I'm out of that I use Murphy's oil soap.

+1, Federated Auto parts carries DG 901 also. Great sheeting action on the final rinse with this product which helps eliminate water spots. But in a pinch I'd go with Megs Gold Class at WM.

I don't know if it's the best, but it's my favorite...Turtle Wax Zipwax...it works well for clay barring too cuz it's so slick...
