On the Beach, 1959. Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire. Very melancholy. Cars, post-apcoalyptic Australia. BTW, the Swordfish is actually a British submarine. USN wouldn't allow the movie producers use a US sub.

If you've never seen this film watch it. You will never forget it.

The end of Tenet is great (a Nolan film). Confusing and clarifying at the same time, for a very confusing plot. It’s a 3 hour movie. The first time we watched it with our friends, it took about 4 hours to get thru watching (with some pausing for plot discussion). We then discussed the movie for 5 hours afterwards to figure out what actually happened.

Also, the ends of both "L. A. Confidential" and "The Departed", warmed the heart

I'd forgotten how much I liked Das Boot. What a fantastic, visceral movie. You could smell it inside the U-boat.

When I first saw the movie, it was early in his career, and I didn't know who Kevin Spacey was.
