Hello all,

Been watching the forums here and there and finially decided to register and post a question I have with my car.

Was wondering if anybody knew the difference between these 2 oils

&

http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Golf_V--2.0T/Maintenance/Engine/Oil/ES261380/

This would be for a 2007 VW GTI (2.0T FSI engine) 82,000km
Trying to find the best oil for my car that will help minimize carbon build up and generaly less wear and tear. I currently go to the VW Dealer which uses castrol oil

Thanks

The first one looks to be a mid/low SAPS oil, which may actually be beneficial in helping minimize DI deposits. As long as you're not planning to run very long oil change intervals, I'd probably go with it.

Well VW recomends i change my oil every 15,000KM
However I change mine every 10,000KM so running a long time before an oil change would not be an issue with me.

I dont mind getting the more expensive oil as long as its worth it. But if what you said is true then I would be better off going with the first link due to lower DI Deposits

Thanks

Well, the one in the first link is in fact the more expensive one of the two.

Wow, never realized an Italian tune-up was considered running at load for such a long time.

Over on audiworld.com, some are saying carbon build up in the Q5 3.2 V6 does seem more prominent in cooler metropolitan areas (shorter trips, not driven hard enough, etc.).

Lubrizol says that lower SAPS oils are less prone to producing build-up:

Not sure if X-clean or the VW Specific Motul is lower SAPS.
