best mileage with QHP

so i was feeling cheap. i bought the Walmart special of Quaker State Q Horsepower 5w30. i was happy to report i got 18.103 mpg. which is the best i have ever gotten with this truck. i will be doing the same route with Mobil 1 5w30. oh its an 8.1 liter big block truck. has anyone else gotten this good of mileage before with this motor with some other oil

18mpg and change... yea, I wouldn't change a thing as far as mpg goes. Heck, I don't even get that in my .5 ton Dodge Ram regular cab 2wd Hemi with headers and superchips on econ mode.

i tried the econ mode super chips and i got less mpg. it was at 65-70mph. its a 2500hd chev 4 wheel drive and 6 speed manual trans

Geez, if I'd known I could get 18 on a chevy 8.1 I might have tried to find one. I was getting around 14 mpg with my Chev Avalanche 5.3L with the 4.10 rear end empty. To add insult to injury, it basically wasn't enough to pull my 24' trailer.

What rear end do you have and what are you getting in the city?

Those things are beasts. You can surprise some pretty quick sports cars with those.
