BEST LOW COST Espresso Machine??

My brother has a Nespresso machine. After a week of use I decided to order one and couple types of Illy pods.

The machine hits a sweet spot. Not perfect but acceptable.

Actually thought about mentioning the Nespresso line for the price point, convenience, minimal involvement, but most people over time tend to not care for them due to the capsule cost/waste if not recycled, that sort of thing. Good deal on finding something to suit your intended use.

You have READ? No personal insight? Another keyboard commando? I guess my question for you is how many Breville espresso machines are sold every year. What is the failure rate? I have personal experience with the silicone sealing gasket failing....it fails with extended use, it is a wear item. Takes 30 seconds to change and a few bucks to buy. I have owned Gaggia/Saeco/DeLonghi machines as a 40 year espresso consumer. They are about on par with the Breville as far as length of service. The nice thing about the Breville is I can find the internal parts from 3rd party dealers and repair the units myself, it is user serviceable. As far as internal rust? The stainless steel on my machines has never rusted. Like most espresso machine manufacturers, their thermal packs/ boilers/pumps/switches/ lamps/integrated circuits/tubing and hardware are built by vendors and have commonality with dozens of manufacturers. The only thing Breville truly builds is the skeleton and housing which holds these components. You should stick to your plastic Mr.Coffee and respond to topics that you actually have real world knowledge of. Rusty stainless? Cut me some slack!
Just saw yet another Breville 'garbage' complaint on a forum... typical low quality o-ring design/placement led to the usual internal issues in just a few short years and one would think by now that the Breville dumbgineers could figure this out. Of course they will still have their supporters as some enthusiasts just don't know any better/different.

Indeed it’s a compromise. The easy part is the machine is not so expensive so if I go $500 machine in future no worries

illy pods can be had for not crazy price but yes the Nespresso branded ones approach .80 each
I will try others as well

The push button control is super nice and extraction hood
Cheater espresso with great crema

Truth!

It would be difficult for me to go without a few strong cups of black coffee every day.

We had a few choices at work for a safety award gift this past week. My college aged kids wanted the "touch screen espresso maker" which is what I chose. We'll see how that goes. The gift choices were all in the $150 range, so it's far below a quality rig I'd assume.

Keep us posted!

I got my Breville toaster oven for my 10 year work anniversary 14 years ago. Still working great.

I have the same one as part of my collection, it has made hundreds of shots without out the fuss of those super automatics; I love the convenience. Just dump the capsules, rinse the drip tray and you're done. No moving parts to service which eventually break. It's not perfect, but it's worth it in my opinion. Are they still being made in the Ukraine? Mine was.
