I have used Seafoam a lot. But the only time I had a problem was in my snowblower, which - when I went nearly two years between starts - caused me the worst starting problem I have ever had.

I use Startron. It is the cheapest per gallon of gas treated and says the treated gas is good for 2 years.
I used red Stabil for years. In 2011 I bought a new boat and started using Stabil Marine. After 6 months I looked down in the new tank and could see a big glob of blue in the bottom of the tank. I could not believe it with all the waves and sloshing.
I switched to Startron and have had good results and the blue glob eventually disappeared. The engines also idle better with Startron. I now use Startron with every tank and it only cost about a nickle a gallon.

In the recent past, I was using both red Stabil and STP gas treat, then I realized this was overkill..
I prefer and only use the STP in all my OPE now.

Interestingly enough, I figured that oz. per oz. the marine stuff cost more, but it can treat a lot more gas too, which makes it actually cheaper to use over the red stuff.

Unless you are in the business, with the gas one uses in OPE the cost of Stabil is trivial.

I turn my gas over within 2 months, generally 4-6 weeks. I use a fuel stabilizer only for the gas left in the tank and carb.

But that can vary. Never can tell when power will come back and shut down generator. Or if this is last snow of the season.

Or I had a bunch of gas in riding mower, electric starter broke and it was a year before I got back to fixing it.

I use 5 to 7 1/2 gallons of 4 cycle OPE gas/year. Generator is propane.

I never use any stabilizers but if I had to pick one for a small engine I'd use Startron. I've had several customers coming into the auto parts store asking for it because their repair tech/specialist of some sort told them that's what to get and I trust that.

But isn't there a distinct difference in what Stabil, Stabil 360 and Stabil Marine are trying to accomplish. From what I've gleaned, Stabil (red) is more about keeping fuel from gumming up in long term storage. The other two are more for protecting fuel that's in use in harsh environments.

All the StaBil products stabilize the fuel for up to a year, which is the primary function of Red Stabil.

The two 360 products, gold 360 and Marine 360, also state they include additives for cleaning the fuel system the red doesn't have. Also, both 360 products are much more concentrated. Gold, or "reg" 360 states it takes 1/4 oz to treat 1 gal of gas.....the Marine 360 states it takes 1/10 oz. to treat 1 gal of gas. Red has to use 1/2 oz for 1 gal gas. So there are two differences right there.

Personally I use Sta-Bil 360 Marine formula in my vintage Lawn Boys. But I did see a video from Donyboy73 about something called K100. Haven't looked into where to get it, but his test showed it absorbed the water he put in gas compared to Sta-Bil, Seafoam, and Star Tron.

Probably because none of those contain alcohol, while K100 does. Primary alkyl alcohol at around 15-20% of the product and n-butyl alcohol at 20-40% of the product. No surprise that K100 absorbs water well.

+1 for all 4 cycle OPE gas all year long.

True, of course, that the other two stabilize fuel for up to a year. Seems like red Stabil does it for two though? My primary concern is that the fuel might be sitting there for a long time (ATV, generator) in between uses so I've stuck to red Stabil. I wish they were more clear-cut in their advertising as to what's better for a certain application.

Marvel Mystery Oil. I've had equipment with ethanol fuel in it that hasn't been run in two or three years and had Marvel in them. Had no issues starting them. My McLane power reel I hadn't run in nearly two years before I started it this fall, started right up.

For storage I use any of the Stabil products, and sometimes Startron, but for normal use, I always use MMO in the E0 gas. I never thought of using the MMO as a stabilizer.

Make your own E0. I can't find it in my area so I take 93 E10 and add 32 oz of water, give it a shake. Let it sit for an hour. Drain the water out of the gas. Water and gas don't mix but ethanol and water does. Doing this drops the octane level about 3 points. Sometimes I add octane booster.

Since we switched over to blue Stabil marine five years ago, not a single problem, and that's with using 10% ethanol in NON-top tier gas every time.
We have a smallish commercial lawn biz. Whether it's our 190 Honda mowers, or 18-28 hp Kawasaki engines, etc., I don't even bother turning the fuel off or draining tanks at the end of the season any more. Not a single issue with the blue marine.
The 2 cycles have faired equally as well since moving to Amsoil Saber.
