I found washing around sunset or early in the morning before things heat up works well.

The best OTC that I've used is Duragloss. It's not "too readily available" unless you have a Carquest (some Napa also carry DG). I've always wanted to try Megs GC -- as it's often recommended. Costco has it this season. I'll wait until they start reducing the price.

China Mart has Meguiars GC on sale right now for $5.00, but it is the 48oz. bottle, not the half gallon that everyone else carries

(and that I stocked up on back when they had it for $6.00 a bottle).

I think Costco has 1 gal for 10-$12? A gallon will last me years. I hate the cherry smell of Duragloss, but otherwise love everything else about it.

I really like Simple Green car wash. It used to be easy to find at Walmart, now it seems to have vanished from the shelves.

If you spot it, pick it up. Its nice and thick like shampoo, and a little bit goes quite a long way.

Blue coral wash is terrible, it is like water. The walmart supertech wash is even worse if that is possible, water also.

That's why I like the Turtle Wax stuff. It creates a thick and very slick lather that not only doesn't strip the wax, but it seems to build to it leaving a nice shine.

I just had my car washed today with the MOC Wash and Wax solution and I must say, I have NEVER had my car look as nice as it does now.

Has anybody recommended DuraGloss? It is one of the best and extremely reasonably priced. A 16-oz bottle is under $5.00 at your local Carquest shop. I was so impressed, that I picked a whole gallon under $20. That would be lifetime supply for me and my sons :-)
