Best Cone/Panel Filter?

Having a little bit of a dilemma here. I would run solely either K&N, AEM, or generic dry eBay air filters.

But it really seems from recent research that cone filters don’t filter as well as stock air box panel filters.

But the issue being, as I can usually notice a power difference on na cars. High flow panel filter/ and or high flow come filter intake vs oem style paper filter.

Is there anything available that offers sweet velocity stack sounds, but still closeish to panel paper filter, filtration, and still good airflow for power?

The car in question is a 2zzge Celica gts. High revving naturally aspirated engine. I put on a wix paper filter and man does it bog the engine down. But at least it’s clean air… right? Haha.

Anybody have any advice?

Checked their page and it just seems like marketing, just like K&N.

I guess Mann has cone filters, but I don’t see any built in velocity stack https://catalog.mann-filter.com/EU/eng/dimensions

It's not cotton gauze like K&N. It's more of a woven cotton, like a Polo shirt.

I was entertaining the idea of a cold air intake for the grand prix, just to try it, but do they really not filter as well?
That 3.1 in there is a good motor, and I want to keep it that way!

It's K&N for me. Been so since 1990 or so.

I never knew cone filters, filter less I thought they offer more surface area over panel. Cone filters do offer more of an air charge as well
