As the title states I am struggling with interior car odor. Previous owner had 5 kids who not only scratched up the paint but left diaper odors inside the cabin.

When I purchased the car the dealership detailed the interior but didn't get up all the food stains and diaper odors. I'm looking for a good little machine I can detail the cloth seats with to get rid of odor, however many times I may need to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Even that may still leave lingering scent. Using an aggressive but still fabric and adhesive safe disinfectant like odoban which worked well in the suv for certain spots in the carpet and fabric behind the seats and the bottom of the door panels.

A car deodorizer like this can help too. The instructions for the meguiars said only 10 minutes but I did that and it didn't have that much effect but did leave a nice scent for a while. I tried it again months later and left it in there for almost an hour and worked better and the scent stayed for much longer. The refresh brand I haven't tried but looks promising.

For organic based odors like the OP described, nothing will be more permanently effective than using an ozone machine to decompose the offending contaminants through oxidation. Here is a very inexpensive unit from Amazon that would do the job. Always follow the warnings to prevent personnel injury from inhaling the ozone.

Anyone using an ozone generator in a car should google "ozone generator ruined my car" or check this:

It doesn't happen all the time, not on all car models, but boy does it happen when it happens.

Yeah, ozone generators and some rubbers and plastics are a big no-no.

Funny related story;

Good friend has several rental units and uses an ozone generator between tenants in some cases :sick:. Late on Halloween Eve several years ago his son's much anticipated costume arrives from who knows where via Amazon late that night and just reeks, reeks of plasticizer. Friends wife put the generator and said costume in a big appliance box, or a small basement bathroom (I forget) overnight and the next morning the big, elaborate rubber mask is in shriveled shards...panic ensued.
