The name Beagle can be translated to mean "loudmouth" in French.

Not quite. It's from the French word begueule, and translates to "gaped throat". Nice try though.

I take it you have a chihuahua?

Obviously the therapy isn't working for you. Nice.

My granddad raised and trained beagles for show and field trial full time when he was a younger man. I had a couple of AKC beagles for hunting. You kind of know what personality you're getting with pure beagles, with mixes who knows?

Beautiful dogs, but I am personally not a fan of how much they bark.

The German Shepard (or Belgian Malinois?) above is more my style. There should be a few photos floating around of hers in the back of the Jeep.

She also has a pug. Though I am not 100% convinced on their looks, they are super friendly to everyone and everything. I eventually want an Old English or American bulldog or the like. We shall see.

Got 2 females. One looks like. Your s the other looks like basset, good with people and protective (barking) .they love to run,and if they get a scent of food gone, trash day they are leashed until trash truck has been through neighborhood. Enjoy your new family member .

Just wondering if they have any problems to look out for and I know 2 co workers that have them and they love them. They seem very, very loyal

Want to say they can be prone to separation anxiety. Our mix (beagle and Italian grehound we think--she's a rescue) certainly has it.

I'm not a fan of their barking. Ours doesn't have the beagle howl, thankfully. But she sure is vocal.

Nice size for a dog. BIL has a bulldog, and that thing is solid. Bump into it, and it's not one to move. Or notice. My daughter and it were running around in the yard, and collided. She got a cracked elbow out of that.

Our dog isn't bad for shedding, yard has taken some damage but not that much. She certainly likes to roam off our property (but always comes home after 10-15 minutes). Just that darn anxiety problem.

My sister's dog is that mix. Nice gentle dog, LOTS of energy to burn off, and loves to follow his nose. If you're prepared for the nature of 2 breeds that usually lead humans to prey, they're great. (meaning, they may not listen to you if following their nose) If not, you probably won't enjoy fighting a dogs nature. Any dog is trainable, but people have bred them to bring out certain tendencies.

I think owner and dog are happiest when a dogs breeding tendencies match their owners expectations and lifestyle.

A friend had a Bassett/Beagle mix. It basically had a Beagle head, Bassett body, and short stumpy legs. It actually looked quite pitiful....sorry.
