That's a split ring wheel.

I know the difference but I don't see any point of going into is it a Firestone RH-5, Kelsey-Hayes type WK-4 or one of the Goodyear styles found on very old cars with Budd centers.
Split ring and split rim are all multi piece wheels and are all commonly referred to as split rims.

I, too, always knew them as widowmakers. Never personally torn into one, though. My wife would probably encourage me to try if she learned of their existence, though

Split ring are safe and still used today.

I wouldn’t consider working on any split rim unless it was caged during inflation or the lock ring was chained to restrain it if it broke loose.
