Based on Mola's response about the detergents (not really double) I presume this is a non issue.

Comments? Thanks a bunch.

??? I am not understanding based on my PWC engine (above) what potential issues could there be using this oil?)

Thanks for any comments.

Given your fuel dilution issues with this engine, I think a 15w40 synthetic diesel oil is an excellent choice. The extra detergents and dispersants in a CH-4 or CI-4 rated diesel oil will keep the partially burned fuel particles suspended and dispersed in the oil.

As I mentioned previously, I'd probably run the Amsoil 15w40 in this application to start out, with an oil analysis every 50-60 hours to evaluate the effect of the fuel dilution on wear rates and oil degradation.

Besides FM, does Moly really do anything in terms of bring[bearing] wear in hard revving engines then? Is this why M1R has no significant amounts of it?

In high dosages, MoDTC acts as a triple functional additive:
1. As an FM
2. As an AW
3. As an anti-oxidant.

IN M1R, they are using the moly in low levels as an FM only, since the primary AW/Anti-Oxidant is the ZDDP.
