Could very stiff ADBV's on Baldwin B2-HPG's I've been using cause a restriction to oil flow on start up?? I tried pushing the black rubber valve in /down with a screw driver this past weekend...extremely stiff. Tried others (Motorcraft, K&N, Wix) and found them very pliable and moved in / down very easily, which lead me to wonder about the restriction...

Is my thinking and assumption correct??

(From Saturday Night Live) Sounds like a "Hans & Franz" ADBV. "What, you poor little man, hopelessly trying to push down on a little itty-biddy valve while it kicks your loose, flabby buttocks into submission..."

HA!! Just kidding...

Engine oil pressures typically range anywhere from 40-90 psi, so I suspect the pressure will sufficiently slap the snot out of drainback valve's resistance ("Resistance is Futile"), even when winter-cold. The only other possibility I could imagine is a buff-built valve diaphram, stored in a garage or shed in the grueling summer heat for several years, thoroughly hardening and stiffening the diaphram in the process. I recently pulled out some ski goggles stored like that for 8 years, with the previously pliable silicone seal and foam rubber looking like those windshield gaskets on 20-yr old cars.

Thanks for the response...I was thinking, like you, that the oil pressure would overcome any resistance. But, in retrospect, there was a noticeable delay on pressure build-up compared to the FL-1A I just installed this past weekend.
Both Baldwins only had 3-4k miles on them when changed. If anyone uses B2-HPG's , please let me know...curious of your opinions.
