Bad Gas, Still Exists for Sure

Using Costco gas about 90% of the time -- no issues. The Costco I use has steady traffic through its pumps most times of the day.

I've read not to use the gas station while the gas truck is filling up the tanks or shortly after. It mixes and stirs the stuff that were settled on the bottom.
Not sure if it's true or not but when I see gas tankers, I move on.
So....how long after a tanker leaves is long enough? How do you know the tanker hasn't just gotten out of sight before you get to the pump?

What‘re the filters for?

Also, I was blown away at how clean the inside of the gas tank was on my ‘97 Legacy when I replaced the fuel pump around a decade ago. It was spotless

Yep...and those filter often filter as good or BETTER than the filter in most vehicles. I've been delivering gas while a guy was there changing the pump filter. He let me see it...and it had a rating of 80% @ 20 microns on the label. That's as good as the average OE fuel filter.
