I was parking today and thought I was in park. Truck slowly backed into a curb at idle. I was about 2 feet away. Rear tires kinda bounced off. Both rear tires seemed to hit flush. So what's your opinion on any damage? How tough is the rear suspension? This is an AWD Ridgeline.

thanks

Tougher than that. It might have been a jolt when sitting in the seat, but I highly doubt you did any damage.

I had this friend once. He drove over an island in his wife’s suv. His wife and 9 yo son immediately got out to see if any damage and luckily it only grazed the rear hvac lines and scraped the plastic lower cladding. This friend did it a second time teaching his son to ride a bike when his wife wasn’t there. The friend figured he needn’t mention it. Happen to know the friend ordered a new suv for the family and promised himself he’ll be more careful.

I saw a landscaping company F150 hit a square curb at about 35mph to park in the greenspace along a busy street. Looked like it was his MO for getting up the curb. Tires and suspension took it hard.

He probably started at 1mph, then 5 mph, then stopped caring.

35 is way to fast.. of course...
but there is "A SPEED" to hit bumps at for every cars suspension.

too slow is a big bump and too fast is too much impact.. think about how fast to hit speed bumps for example.
just right seems to be about 10mph. or inching along.. nothing in-between or above :)

Now a regular curb.. it would be the <1mph for me... like the other day when 4 cop cars were blocking my driveway stopping a druggie escaped from rehab in my yard. (I have nice 4k video from 2 angles of it and me hopping the 5" curb into my yard to park.o_O )
