I have a 1999 Silverado, 205,000 km, VERY WELL maintained. Have done the regular transmission fluid and filter changes as well as everything else under the sun for the life of the vehicle. Anyways, had an error code P0756 come up - "B Shift Solenoid performance or stuck off". I've since had the error code cleared and seems to be running fine, although the shifting does seem different. The code has not returned - yet.
City driving seems fine, but highway driving seems to have a delay in the shift, or sometimes not at all. Can't tell if it's the 1-2 shift or 2-3 one. Am I doing any harm to the transmission right now driving it with a possible shift solenoid issue, and is there anything I can add to the fluid to maybe clean up the solenoid(s)? I also don't seem to notice it that much when I'm driving in D3 as opposed to the regular D. Can someone fill me in as to what's going on ?? Sorry, I know - lots of questions.
