Remember, the Gold should be as good if not better than the Green.

Why? What data backs up that statement?

The fact that the Gold has to meet even higher standards than the Green did.
Pscholte knows all the #'s.
As I said, it should be as good. I am being optimistic about it till proven otherwise.
There is always the chance it could be worse (although very small).

That doesn't mean a lot to me. Also, the standards are different, that doesn't necessarily make them better. Besides, you far exceed lower standards (as many believe GC Green does) and just meet slightly higher standards and the original product could be better.

I don't necessarily feel that the newer standards necessarily make for better oil for specifications I desire.

I have seen all the VOA information and specifications, if there is better information out there, I would like to see it.

We will see. It wouldn't be the first time a successor product wasn't as good as an original or earlier product. If we all believed that, not one of us would keep any extra product on the shelf in our garage as the local retail outlet would always have the newest/freshest/best (let alone some here having 10s or 100s of quarts of GC Green). I also wouldn't go around saying an unproven product is necessarily better based on oil standards alone.

Rich

Rich, Can you read Elvish script?...that is the ONLY way you can get to the BETTER information.

(I tried to include some sample script for you but the BITOG software is so smart it kept translating it back to English.

I don't believe it has actually been recalled as in defective--that was purely speculation, and by only one or a few members. Castrol and Az appear to be doing some "stock realignment." The new GC data sheet shows it is 229.5. It appears to be alive and well.

Exactly.
There was no GC recall as in the "quality recall"
Some stores were doing some inventory reshuffling.
That's ALL.
