Certainly agree 101%. But, on the other hand, rarely ---in my opinion---are less expensive/private oils built to a high(er) standard...that does not mean they would not be OK in some applications for sure.

I think the point here is that there is not (in my *personal opinion*) effective policing by regulatory authorities on motor oil quality...the average consumer could but old SF oil in their car, turn it in at 36-60Kmi at lease end, and be clueless that the engine and emissions system was impacted.
All brands do have small issues from time to time...the question is, do they do the right thing, or wait to get "caught" or sued...
