That and it shears down pretty quick. Valvoline VR1 racing oil is the same way. It is only meant for single day heavy track use.Why though? ZDDP content?
Thank you sir. Been a while since there was a racing oil discussion that I can recall. That and it shears down pretty quick. Valvoline VR1 racing oil is the same way. It is only meant for single day heavy track use.
It is a single purpose oil that is not designed for long term use. It is a misconception that "Racing" must mean better when it comes to daily application use but this not the case.
Nor does mixing it with API spec oils make any frankenbrew better.
Oil Greed, then buyers remorse, then elation.Mine was canceled. I'm actually happy, since I have no use for it.
Really? From what i was reading, it resists shear better than regular oil. That and it shears down pretty quick. Valvoline VR1 racing oil is the same way. It is only meant for single day heavy track use.

So it's not necessarily because it will not last for long intervals but rather because the zinc and phosphorus will coat emissions components and high calcium is bad for DI engines with respect to LSPI.
If you didn’t know anything about AutoZone’s return policy,I just returned my 12 qts and lost the 4.99 shipping and after a bad week did not want to fight for it.
I wouldn’t try the whole sump …Mine came today. Gonna try it in my 95 Miata with ticky lifters.
I used one quart with 4.5 quarts of Kirkland 5w30 in a Toyota 4.0l, which isn't picky anyway.I wouldn’t try the whole sump …
I would just try one qt for now
Jealous. I was hoping that by ordering a multiple of 6 I would get original boxes. They're much easier to stack. The oil was delivered yesterday. It was the first time I got oil in the original box (but not inside another box). No leaks! I call it a win. Maybe the fact that the box shows it contains bottles of oil means the delivery employees are less likely to toss it around.

Why?
I guess you can always blend it with some 0w16 to make a 0w20, those low ash 0w16 would blend really well with this high zddp stuff at 50% I think. Or if you are using it to engine flush those zddp would really help if the solvent dilute it too thin. Why?
Why so many??
Think of it more along the lines of a “high ZDDP additive” - not something you would fill your entire crankcase with
