I doubt that it is junk. Autozone regular 5w30 oil is good http://www.pqiamerica.com/AutoZoneApril2010.htm , so their synthetic should also be good. It may not be great. It is not worth the price. Get G-oil for that price.

That was my 1st impression as 26.99 is a bit steep for something that is "new".

When a 1st impression is bad... I'm the kind of person that will stand clear till the earth shifts.

Hardly junk but it's no bargain at that price either. There are better products available for that much money.

Price aside, the oil itself is probably more than fine for a 5k-7k interval.

While I can speak of no certainty, I highly doubt it's junk. If it met API certifications then it is a safe bet it's good oil. There are some other oils with a better add pack for slightly less money though. I've been using Quaker State's synthetic oil for this very reason.

Not that I'd use it, just noticed AZ has been raising there prices as of late. Wonder if they will be next on the chopping block.

AZ Was getting their oils from Warren Dist. Look for a WPP or WNE stamped on the bottom of the bottle. It's good stuff if that's the case.

That is right. The price on this oil at AZ is almost the same at Wally with PP. Why go down with this oil when no advantage at all?

I'm sure it's okay, but there are much better deals available on what are probably equally good or better oils.
For example, you can get Maxlife Full Synthetic for 3.95/qt at AAP on closeout, as mongo originally posted.
You can also get either QSUD or G-Oil FAR.
If you want to spend $26.99 for a jug of oil, Walmart has M1, Synpower and PP for the same or less.
Why would anyone pay that kind of money for store brand oil?
