I read the AutoRX application instructions under "diesel" but it said it is ONLY for the Duramax, Cummins, and PSD American trucks.

I am interested in buying a W123 1982 Mercedes sedan with a 5 cyliner 3.0L turbo diesel engine. What application instructions should I use?

Thanks!

This engine takes 8 quarts(7,5 liters) of oil. You will need 16 ounces(2 ounce for every quart). The 123 series non-turbo 5-cylinder, requires 6,5 litres of oil.

I used the standard auto directions for my TDI with a 4.6 quart sump and went 2500 on the rinse. Worked well.
You could email Frank directly and get a response if you're really concerned. He's pretty good about his product's why's and how's. How many miles on that Benz?

I would definitly consider the ARX cleansing and rinse on a 25 year old unit. I would not read too much into the information dealing with pick-up type diesel applications on the ARX site. Consider ARX to be the best medicine for a turbo for one, and secondly 25 years of potential soot/carbon deposits at the ring packs. The US customer base, for whatever reason did not jump on the diesel passenger car market like they did in say the UK. ARX sounds like the perfect product for this 1982 unit.

Diesel Car Engines application of Auto-Rx is 2 ounces per quart of oil.Balance of application same as all other applications (example) for engines under/over/100,000 miles.

Thanks for the reply guys.
The W123 that I am interested in has 210k miles on it.

The auto trans has been replaced at 160k miles. The 3.0L Turbo Diesel engines are supposed to last 500k miles, however, I have heard that their auto trans need to be replaced more often. Will AutoRX help to make the auto trans last as long as the engine?
