41 years later and they still aren't really practical. If you need heat in your vehicle, it sucks down the battery and air conditioning from a battery is pretty expensive. The day will be coming, however.

I can't stand hybrids, but I'm all for electric cars. Plug-in electric hybrids are the first step.

I wonder how much gets invested in room temp. superconductors? These would end the energy crunch is short order.
