I know there are many YouTube channels and various other presentations but the one that has caught my attention lately has been Jim's Automotive Machine Shop.

I think the reason I like it so much is that Jim reminds me of my grandfather who was a very patient and consumate machinist.

Also, they have torn apart and rebuilt many old engines such as single-cylinder wellhead engines, tractor engines (Minn-Moline), straight sixes for old trucks, and even competition engines.
 
I enjoy that channel as well. It is cool seeing the old equipment that still works along with some new stuff. There is no replacement for old school knowledge.

The dad sounds just like one of my wholesale customers. He is mostly retired but he was one of those old school mechanics that I had to earn their trust to let me help them with parts. Now he calls and will only talk to me.
