I'm unsure of the actual name, but it's their brand...NO idea who makes it...but for 98 cents/qt, wondering if I run it for 3k miles how I'd make out....1992 Mitsubishi Galant 2.0 SOHC with 140k on her clock...plan on 5w30.

You'll be absolutely fine with that oil for 3k+ miles. It's manufactured to current API spec's. No worries.

It is fine for your truck too if it meets Ford Specs. Since your truck specifies 5w20 if the AZ oil meets the ford 5w20 spec then it is fine. If the spec is not listed then pass.

It'll work fine in your truck, too. For 98 cents/qt. I'd definitely run it in both vehicles. Nothing bad is going to happen.

thanks guys...wondering why my 1992 Galant calls for 5w30 instead of 5W-20.

she has 140k on her now.....wondering if i can just pick up a few cases of 5W-20 and run it in all 3 vehicles.

I believe it's made by Warren Oil - which supplies many house brand oil names in auto part stores and places like Walmart & Sears.

Reason it doesn't call for 5w-20 is because... well, did 5w-20 even exist back in 1992?

I'd stick with the 5w30 for now, 5w-20 would be fine in your truck, and whats your 3rd vehicle?

5W20 has been around for 25-30+years. Maybe even longer.

Longer. I have found Ford owner's manual's that referance 20 weights from the 40's.

Of course this is single weights back then.

I think what poster Brogy is pointing out - is that 5W-20 stickers didn't appear on the engine oil cap (or) in new passenger vehicle owners manuals back then.

What triple said, i'll go with that one.

5w-20 sounds fine in both your ford and honda, but I wouldn't run it in the mitsu, given it's age alone, just stick with what got it here today.

Autozone's "Valuecraft" oil brand does not meet the latest API standards, but it probably meets the standard that was in place when that Mitsu was new. Without sales or rebates, Walmart's Supertech oil is probably the least expensive oil that meets current API specs.
