Adam,

What transmission? There appears to be a large amount of metal flake in the bottom of the can.

Would you be willing to cut the paper out of the element and lay it out flat? That way we can see the amount of metal the filter caught.

Maybe I'm not seeing it properly but I don't see a lot of flakes in the bottom of the can.
More like metal dust not flakes or they bead blasted the can. I can't tell.
If Adam ran his finger across the can bottom we may see if it is dust or the can.
