Question pertains to a 2004 Chrysler Town and Country Touring minivan (3.8L) engine:
What is automatic transaxle fluid change mileage recommendation?
Vehicle has 115K miles on it, and don't know if its ever been done. Its used in mostly country and highway driving, little to no city drives nor a lot of stop and go. No problems at this time.
Thanks.

For a Chrysler minivan, change it every year if not every OCI. Of course, that might still not be enough to stop the transmission from perishing.

Use Redline C+ if you can afford it, otherwise get the cheapest licensed ATF+4. ALL licensed ATF+4 is the same. Every ATF+4 listed on Chrysler's approval list is the same. Walmart's house brand ST ATF+4 is on that list.

I looked and saw no change interval recommend. That being said, now is the time for a filter and fluid service with a dedicated ATF +4 fluid.

I would think now would be a good to do a complete fluid exchange. You can exchange it via the cooling line or three or so drain & fills. The filter also needs to be changed. Unless you can find service records you need to assume the ATF has never been changed. Color is not a good indicator of much unless the ATF looks like driveway sealer.

Pan drop and filter change. No drain plug either.

In that case, he should get an aftermarket pan that has a drain plug, especially considering how much you need to do it. Dorman 265-832

I got a Dorman pan for my f150. Love that I can now do annual drain and fill on my transmission as easily as changing oil.
