I've been using auto RX on a 92 Buick skylark 3.3, I completed the cleaning cycle and I'm now 1,500 miles into the rinse cycle and the oil on the dipstick looks almost exactly the same as when I put it in (havoline), I keep hearing about how during the rinse phase people's oil gets dark or even looks like "tar", throughout the cleaning and rinse phases my oil has looked almost like new, what's going on? I bought 2 bottles because the car has 125,000 miles on it, but it dosen't appear that I'm getting the same results everyone else has, maybe my engine was pretty clean to start with? My mileage has improved about 2 MPG on the highway, power feels the same. Any opinions?

If you have followed the directions and you're not seeing much in the oil.......be happy!

You've got a clean engine one way or the other.

Thats funny, becuase I am having the same thing. Which is weird, since you would think dino oil after being in for 3000 miles you would have black oil even without the Auto-RX, so I think something is going on.

Using the oil dipstick to ascertain oil cleanliness
is not accurate or relevant. Post again when you drain your rinse oil, remember all that now liquified contaminants are laying on the internal parts and getting ready to come out during drain.
Please revisit www.auto-rx.com and read FAQ

I'll post again after draining the rinse phase (500 more miles), this car has had it's oil changed very frequently (sometimes less than 2,000 miles between oil changes) so I doubt there is very much build up in there. Hopefully when I drain it maybe I'll notice a darker color to the oil or the oil filter will have lots of crap in it.

What did the initial oil and filter look like with the ARX installed.? On a fairly clean motor ARX can effectively perform the whole cleaning procedure prior to the rinse phase. There is a finite amount of contaminats that can be dissolved and suspended by a 12 ounce bottle of ARX. When it is exhausted the cleaning action stops. However there will be some ARX penetrated into the remaining deposits. When the new oil rinse phase occurs the impregnated deposits are free to flow into the fresh oil.

The oil and filter on the first treatment of ARX looked about the same as every other oil change I've done, I've never had really dark oil on any oil change I've ever done on this car regardless of mileage. The oil filter did seem "heavier" than normal, but I'm not sure if it was in my head. Like Frank said I'll just look at the oil when I drain it after the final rinse, and not go by the dipstick color.
