Generally, I agree, but I also have a Saab 900, and believe me, his pictures ARE worth a 1000 words.

Just go over to www.saabnet.com and find out for yourself what a favor J R has done for us with this post!

BTW, I used AutoRx (no pictures!), but I had a lot more stuff in my filters than he had!

Thanks, J R!

I think you should try some Lube Control now! I think you will find that it will remove all of the remaining varnish. In that engine would double the current instruction on the side of the LC bottle for the first two OCI's! Then after that just follow the current instructions on the side of the jug! More then likely by the time you finish the second OCI with it you will find that most if not all of that varnish will be gone! LC is fairly cheap and is a great maintence item.

quoted for truth.

Well, the photos from after the #2 treatment ARE in fact before pictures, with respect to the #3 treatment. Sure, full photo documentation would be preferred, but I can see a change for the better between the two treatments.

Thanks for the replies everyone... I wish I had taken before pics too.

I have a used oil analysis from the last rinse oil, I will post the results as soon as I figure out how to get my name and address off of the stupid pdf file.

convert the PDF to a JPEG (assuming you just don't have Acrobat Reader)

or open in Photoshop

or Take a Screen Cap (Usually the "print Screen" button) and paste into whatever image editing software you have (like MS Paint)

It is coil over plug. The four coils are held together in an aluminum-backed "Direct ignition cassette." It's an ingenious system.

An "ingenious" system they borrowed right from the GM Quad4 that was using it since 1987.

Nope, sorry. It's not a one-trick pony COP system. It also uses the plugs to determine turbo back pressure, spark timing, and FI. And...it was patented in 1984 by SAAB and Mecel AB.
