when I end up finding a jetta wagon tdi to buy i would like to run auto-rx through it (I've used it before in other diesels w/ great success)

what's the deal with using Auto-rx in the oil required for the PD (04+) TDIs, does it work with the 505.? oils?

thank you
-Jason

Strictly speaking, most 505 oils are full synthetics. So it is uncertain what you have. GIV and V bases and anything with a polar component will not give optimum ARX rinse results.

Bear in mind that the VW specs factor a 10k OCI, which you will not be doing in an ARX treatment.

At the very short intervals required (2,500 and 3k), Rotella synthetic is a GIII oil and should be fine for a TDI in an ARX application. Many VW techs use RTS in their own TDIs. Very fine oil at a good price.

Wait another month, and the new Sportwagen TDI will be out. That's what we're waiting for.
