Okay, just want to pass this along since I didn't realize it until I searched the arx forum....it's okay to use Maxlife Synth on the maintenance doses. Maybe no one else even had an issue with this, but I guess in my head I had equated the brew of Maxlife and arx as bad. Wonderful. I've had 20 or so quarts of Maxlife Synth on the shelf that I have hesitiated to use b/c a.) I can never find it in stores but also b.) b/c I had been thinking that using it with arx was a general no-no. I guess I thought it was b/c the seal conditioners in Maxlife were special, but...guess not

Just wanted to pass that on!

In my experience with THIS engine, no oil alone works fine.

You'd be amazed how much the little maint dose can help. If you're interested, I can dig up my maint dose before/after pics. Nothing earth shattering, but more than other more intensive treats got done.

I do not doubt you.

I do love before and after pics though.
If you have them, Id always love to see em. Dont go out of your way though. I dont want ya searching 100's of folders.

Very neat pictures, Brian.

I must say, for something so gentle it's certainly powerful stuff. Those look like some boulders on your fingertip - were they metallic or is that just oil sheen I'm seeing? Looks like some potential bearing killers if so. Either way, it's a good thing it was so effective that engine needed a cleaning.

They were small bits of hard carbon deposits. Yep, well, she's got 149k miles on her now. I'd never have thought it based on the early going.

In cleaning an engine (not sludge removal or heavy oil burning) when finished with full Auto-Rx Treatment you can use any oil you want.Use the Auto-Rx Maintenance Plan.
